Why are some leads so cheap?
Very cheap leads are usually old, heavily shared, or generated with low-quality methods. The price tag reflects what went into them.
Because in leads, like everywhere else, the price whispers the truth about what went in. Dirt-cheap leads are usually one of three things: old, generated months or years ago, and interest has a shelf life; heavily shared, sold to five, ten, or more buyers, so you are caller number eleven; or sourced badly, incentivized sign-ups and trickery, people who never truly asked for anything. None of that makes every cheap lead worthless, sharp closers can mine shared lists on speed alone. But walk in with open eyes: you are buying quantity and sorting work, not warm conversations. The better math is usually the lead type matching your follow-up skill and time. Ask any provider three questions: how fresh, how many buyers, and how generated? Watch the answers carefully. Silence is also an answer.
